The Tech Girl (Chapter One)

By now, you likely have read "The Silent Girl" and "That Math Girl", but if not you should definitely read them. With that being said, let's get started.

It was my first year of high school. I was so excited yet so nervous. I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I knew most of what was going to happen. I knew most of what was going to happen, but I wasn't quite sure of all the details. Today was the last Monday before school started. As I started to drifted off to sleep, I suddenly remembered that I forgot to charge my devices. Everyone was always teasing me about how much I used and needed my devices, but that is just who I am. I love to learn new things and discover new places. My little farm town of San Jose, OR didn't have a lot of stuff that I could see on the internet. It was tons of fun learning about all of the new technology people were making. Speaking of technology, I plugged in my iPhone 27, AirPods 7 Pro, and MacBook Pro 5.4.10. I was very proud to have all of the latest technology. I had to have them all mailed from Portland, which is over a hundred miles away. Some people wondered where I go the money from to buy all of this cool technology. Well, I will tell you. I helped my siblings and cousins sell their products on Amazon. Just kidding, I didn't actually make much money from that. It was just something fun to do and help them earn money. In reality, I have been working as a freelance programmer since I turned thirteen last year. Anyway, it's really late. I had better go to sleep. I will need all of the extra energy for my first day of high school.

The next morning, at 5:50 AM, my iPhone started playing my morning news podcasts. I quickly put my Airpods in my ears, grabbed my iPhone and left my room to start my day. The first thing that I had to do was make sure Clara was awake. Usually, Clara was awake, but if she wasn't I could always wake Isabella up. Isabella was a light sleeper, so she was easier to wake up. Also, she was used to being woken up. With them, all I had to do was make sure that one of them was awake, since they often woke each other up. In this case, Clara was already awake, so I moved on. Next, came Austin and Malachi. They could be grumpy and didn't like to be woken up. I had found that the best way to wake them up was to play their favorite Minecraft sounds on my iPhone from outside their room. This helped to both pacify and wake them up. They loved Minecraft despite the fact that they didn't get very many opportunities to play. Once I was sure that they would be awake, I moved on to Hayden. Waking up Hayden wasn't too hard. All it required was pulling his blankets off the bed. He would be awake in no time.

Now it was time to get some actual work done. Every school day, it was my job to pack our lunch. On non-school days, I would help the women cook lunch. The best part of my job was that on non-school days I could do whatever I wanted with the time between waking Hayden up and breakfast being ready. Since it was a school day, I got to work packing our lunch. I always started with the eggs, since that took the longest. Clara brought in the eggs from the chickens. Today I wanted to be fast, so I decided to make scrambled eggs. I finished the scrambled eggs, so I packed some into our cooler bag and put the rest on a platter for breakfast. I added leftover stir-fried veggies and meat to our cooler bag. Isabella brought some grapes, which I washed. After that, I put some into our cooler bag and the rest in a bowl for breakfast. By then, Clara and Isabella had brought back the milk pail. I filled six bottle of milk and put everything into our big cooler bad. I left the cooler bag by the doorway to pick up later and continued to listen to my podcasts as I waited for breakfast to be ready.
