That Math Girl (Chapter 1)
By now, you likely have read "The Silent Girl" now being created by An Makes and "The Tech Girl" by Makes Tech Team, but if not you should definitely read them.
Introduction: I am Clara Lee. For those who are wondering, I am Isabella Lee's cousin. Isabella is in the book "The Silent Girl". I love math. I have just finished a documentary on math before I started writing this. I love the color blue and green. I hope you enjoyed my introduction on myself, so come on and dive in to the story.
*Disclaimer*: This is a work of fiction. Some events may be based on real life, but some events are made up. For translations of the Chinese, see the Translation section at the very end.
Hi! My name is Clara Lee. You are reading a book called The Math Girl! Right now, I am sitting in math class. Math is my favorite subject. I love it. I will now walk you through what happened so far for me.
I wake up at six am each day. If I accidentally sleep in, Ava will wake me up. I then always hear a tugging sound. The thing is, ¹Ye Ye made this really cool thing. He made it so whenever I jump out of bed, Isabella wakes up too.
Isabella is my cousin. Her father died during Covid-19 and they moved in with my family and Ye Ye and Nai Nai. She used to live next door. Isabella has black hair and brown eyes just like everyone else in my whole entire family (including my extended family, except for Ava because Ava’s eyes are violet.). Anyways, let's go back to what I was talking about earlier. Isabella is a light sleeper, so that is one of the reasons. She wakes up and we go to do our chores.
Anyways, let's go back to what I was talking about earlier. Isabella is a light sleeper, so that is one of the reasons why. She woke up and we had to do our chores.
Since Isabella fed the cow yesterday, today it’s my turn to feed the cow. We take turns feeding the cow and helping ²Nai Nai make breakfast.
I headed over toward the barn. Feeding the cow was hard work, but very satisfying when you finish. It was almost as fun as math, except feeding the cow is much harder to do then doing math (especially multiplication). Multiplication is so easy. I really like the part where the cow walks over and munches on all of the wheat, oats, and other food. After I finished, I went in search of Isabella. She was going to help me carry the food bag, because it is very heavy. I didn’t yell anything, since she wouldn’t have answered. Isabella had been very close to her father before he died, so she rarely spoke to her mom and never to anyone else. I could see what she struggled with, since my father had died not too long ago.
I soon found her collecting eggs to make breakfast. She was going to make xi fan (Chinese rice porridge) with salt and scrambled eggs as toppings. The scrambled eggs also had salt in it.
“Isabella! Can you help me bring the food bag to Ava?”, I asked Isabella once I found her. She then nodded and we raced to the barn.
When we arrived, we got the food bag and slowly brought it to Ava. Ava would need the bag to put it on the high shelf it belonged to. I then speed walked to Isabella and my room to read a new book called Elysium, by Keith A. Robinson.
There were four books in the series and Elysium was the first book. I was excited to start reading it. The genre was Christian science fiction, but Malachi (my older brother and Ava’s younger brother) was really good at picking books and he had chosen this one for me. He even had chosen this book for me. I wondered how good it would be.
Oh wow, I didn't realize that An Makes was totally taking over full time authorship of "Silent Girl"! So now you guys will be doing 3 parallel series on the same story between Silent Girl, That Math Girl and Tech Girl? It will be interesting to see where all this goes.
ReplyDeleteCool. Does she milk the cow while the cow is eating?
